ANKO 50 Years Solo Show: Friday July 2, 2010, 5-7 pm
Join us for lite bites and wine at the LaPorte County CVB Artists Gallery: Marquette Mall, 4073 South Franklin in Michigan City, IN
Paintings, Pottery and Fabric works by Anneke Dekker-Olthof, through August 6
Biography:
Dutch by origin, African by osmosis and American by assimilation, ANKO’s full-time passion as an artist draws from her experiences as a Chicago fashion designer and her lifelong interest in travel and photography.
Always an avid gardener, she now divides her time between the Chicago area and Southwest Florida, so she can garden year-round and stay in touch with the earth’s vegetation in all its fascinating aspects as a continuous inspiration for her paintings.
Travel all over the world sharpened ANKO’s appreciation of color, texture and pattern, while 13 years of living in Africa brought her an awareness of that diverse landscape and the uniqueness of the people born to the continent which many consider to be the cradle of humankind.
