Exhibit-Related Programs at the Lubeznik Center

The Green Day Celebration is the culminating event of the “Green Architecture” exhibit featured in the Lubeznik Center’s Hyndman Gallery through April 20. The exhibit provides a look at the ways local architects have integrated environmentally friendly concepts into their designs. “Green” Architecture is design of spaces and places in full consideration of the natural environment; it seeks to maximize efficiency and minimize impact while meeting the needs of its occupants. Exhibit Sponsors: Edward Noonan (Developer, Architect/Tryon Farms), Tryon Farms Institute and WNIT Public Television.

Other programs related to the “Green Architecture” exhibit, separate from the Green Day Celebration, are ongoing at the Lubeznik Center located at 101 W. 2nd St. in Michigan City, IN. All are welcome! A $3 donation is suggested for each program and LCA members are admitted free:

• This Old Green House. Discover small changes which can make a big difference in your pocketbook and for the environment through energy conservation with Matthew Kubik, an architect and assistant professor of Interior Design. Also, Mike Zeive will introduce earth friendly paints for the home.
April 6 from 1:30 – 3:00
• Green and FUN. Through this creative hands-on workshop, children will learn important concepts about our environment and sustainable design in a fun way. Participants will develop, design and build a model of their own “green” city.
