Join us for a
benefit reception to celebrate the work of internationally
recognized sculptor Richard Hunt at the Lubeznik Center for the
Arts at 101 W. 2nd St. in Michigan City, Indiana on Saturday,
September 15 from 6:00 – 10:00pm (Chicago time).
The “Richard Hunt: Past & Present” Opening Benefit represents a
partnership between the Lubeznik Center for the Arts and the
United Negro College Fund. Proceeds support Lubeznik Center
educational programming and United Negro College Fund
scholarships in Northwest Indiana.
Richard Hunt will be in attendance for an evening including
world-class sculpture, fine wine, and delectable hors d’oeuvres
by LaSalle Grill Catering of South Bend. Live musical
entertainment will be performed by students of the Emerson
School for Visual and Performing Arts in Gary, IN.
“Richard Hunt: Past & Present”, on display in the Lubeznik
Center for the Arts’ Hyndman Gallery from September 15 through
December 9, features work from Hunt’s illustrious career,
highlighting examples of the sculptor’s work from the 1970’s to
present. Exhibit pieces will include a range of major
commissions, tiny maquettes, mid-size studio pieces,
photographic murals, drawings and prints. “Past & Present” is
curated by Suzanne Cohan-Lange, a sculptor and the Vice
President of the Board of Directors for the Lubeznik Center for
the Arts. Target is the presenting sponsor, with other generous
exhibition support provided by: NIPSCO, Lamar Advertising
Company, Indiana University Northwest and WNIT Public
Television.
Tickets for the Opening Benefit are $100 per person. Lubeznik
Center members can purchase tickets at a reduced rate of $75 per
