LUBEZNIK CENTER CO-HOSTS ANNUAL POETRY FESTS

All Poets, wannabe poets and poetry lovers are invited to the 1st Annual Poetry Fest, sponsored by the Association of Beverly Shores Residents (ABSR), the Lubeznik Center for the Arts, and Five Women of Word.

The event will be held on Saturday, February 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (central time) at the Lubeznik Center’s Hyndman Gallery at 101 W. 2nd Street in Michigan City, IN.  Admission is free, although a $3 donation is appreciated. Refreshments will be served.

All poets or poetry lovers are invited to present a piece. Selections can be original or beloved classics.

Each entrant will have a five minute time limit and must sign-in upon arrival.

The Association of Beverly Shores Residents, a very active neighborhood association publishes a monthly newsletter of local events as well as essays, poems and photographs created by residents.  The Association has partnered with cultural organizations to provide a poetry fest as one of its many cultural, educational, environmental and children's programs in Beverly Shores.

The Five Women of Word are five novice poets who initiated a monthly poetry group.  Participants write poems and practice writing exercises. Five Women of Word promotes poetry as an enjoyable and meditative art form.
