Learn and expand upon a range of concepts, strategies and processes that are part of creating abstract artwork. Techniques used in mixed media and acrylic painting will be presented as well as historical information, examples of contemporary abstract artwork and color theory. Discover painting with acrylics on canvas and paper! Learn basic techniques and be introduced to color theory in a relaxed and creative atmosphere. Work from observation and your imagination. Come dressed for mess. All materials are provided. Class
will not be held July 4 in observance of the holiday.
Develop and refine skills related to the basics of drawing, such as line, form, shading, perspective and composition. Experiment with techniques and materials while drawing from real-life references as well as photographs. All skill levels welcome. Materials list is provided upon registration. Class will not be held July 4 in observance of the holiday.
In the first half of this class, explore and discover various media that can combine to successfully create fresh outcomes. Using watercolor, collage, ink and more, learn various techniques using a variety of materials for greater creative possibilities. Build on previous experience in the second half and learn more watercolor, acrylic paint and ink techniques applied to new substrates. Experiment with photo transfers, collage materials, stamp making and creating printing places. Materials list is provided upon registration.
Learn and discuss various techniques used in drawing portraits. Develop skills involved in constructing accurate facial features and creating a balanced composition for a figure drawing. Sketching practices will be offered through observation of real-life modeling and photo references. All materials are provided.

Join fellow art enthusiasts for lively discussions and riveting art presentations centered around our environment, the impact humans have made and the perspectives artists have taken to record and help preserve our natural world. Gain insight into relevant topics while observing the artworks created in response to our ever-changing environment. All materials are provided.
Experience an in-depth look at the practices, terms and techniques used to capture moments in time. From the history of its origins to the latest trends, receive inspiring prompts and themes to conduct photo shoots both on- and off-site. Digital cameras will be provided for the duration of the class for those who need one.

Our scholarship program makes artistic learning opportunities possible for all ages. Scholarships are available for our classes, workshops and camp programs. A simple application is all that is needed.
We provide access to exceptional exhibitions and programs that explore and inspire contemporary thought. Our tours bring a diverse group of nearly 2,000 students annually to LCA for educational tours and onsite art making. Bring your students to Lubeznik Center for the Arts for an inspirational tour of our exhibits featuring internationally known and emerging artists creating unique and exciting work.
When students can't get to our galleries, we have developed a free virtual program to bring the art to your students! Educators can utilize a series of video field trips tailored to use in person or virtually.
